Selling our region to Toronto

Last Wednesday night I had the pleasure of representing our region at the 2012 Brewer’s Plate at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto.  Hundreds of people from Toronto paid $125 each to to tour an endless number of tables featuring a locally produced product paired with an Ontario craft beer.

I was staffing the table hosted by our FAB Region which featured Wilton Cheese Curd and Barley Days Beer.  I met with several different people at our table and around the event who hadn’t heard of our County and region before and many are now interested in coming to our 2nd annual, and expanding, Hastings County Beer Festival in October.  Some are even interested in learning more about investing in a craft brewery here.

According to the LCBO, craft beer sales in Ontario are on the rise at a rate of almost 50%!  That’s HUGE!!!

The time is now to invest and open a craft brewery here locally!  I’m already working with a couple of entrepreneurs behind the scenes who are seriously intent on opening in the next couple of years or so… but I’m able to work with anyone else who is interested.
